In the second of our series of blog posts from Louisa Kendal from the Bristol-based vegan charity Viva!, these five places for a plant-based work lunch provide something for everyone. One of the Going for Gold actions organisations can take is to eat more meat-free meals in the workplace for better human and planetary health.

Bristol is a haven when it comes to vegan food. There are tonnes of options to suit all taste buds and wallet sizes, but it does mean lunchtimes can spark heated debates on where to have the team lunch. Cutting down on meat in the workplace is one of the actions organisations can take as part of the Going for Gold Eating Better strand. Individuals can also pledge to eat more meat-free meals.

Here at Viva!, we’re experts on where to eat vegan at lunchtimes in Bristol, so we’ve compiled our top five office lunch spots so you can spend your time eating rather than chewing each other’s ears on where to go!

Koocha

Koocha is the unequivocal favourite at Viva! This Persian inspired restaurant popped up on the Bristol foodie scene two years ago and has been making waves ever since. They serve the most delicious tapas-sized plates if you’re looking for something light and healthy. Or if you feeling like something a bit naughtier, their vegan loaded fries with vegan kebab or hotdog is convincing enough to please even the biggest meat-lover.

Baba Ganoush

It wouldn’t be a complete list of best vegan eateries without mentioning falafel at least once. We know what you’re thinking…falafel sounds like nothing but a vegan cliché, but trust us on this one, Baba Ganoush offers something special! Their delicious wraps are the perfect lunchtime meal and priced at just £1 on Wriggle we promise you won’t find a better value offer in the whole of Bristol! Sit down in their little café to get out the office and relax!

Café Kino

Cafe Kino is a 100% vegan workers co-operative that sell delicious homemade vegan food. Somewhat of a Bristol establishment, Kino has earned itself a well-deserved dot on the vegan foodie map. Whether you fancy a healthy salad, ‘sos’ roll or their famous bean burger, there is something for everyone. All food is reasonably priced and ethically sourced…what’s not to like?

Pieminister

Pieminister is already a favourite for office lunches in Bristol, so why not keep it classic by swapping your normal pie for one of their delicious vegan offerings? They now have three vegan pies so there’s something for whatever flavours you’re feeling. Their numerous locations in Central Bristol make it ideal no matter where your office is located, and they usually have space for big groups.

Quay Street Diner

If you’re looking for some bangin’ fake meat during your team lunch, look no further! Quay Street Diner are the kings of fake beef burgers, burritos and hotdogs. They tend to get busy at lunchtimes so it’s worth booking, but it’s totally worth it for the American-themed diner vibe and delicious vegan food.
