Collecting surplus vegetables and donating is fantastic. However, what if we could go a step further?
Grow it Forward
Rather than simply donating the excess produce that is inevitably produced at harvest times (think hundreds of courgettes turning to marrow every summer!) What if we could plant intentionally for donation to community food projects around the city? ‘Grow it Forward’ is a concept that means people plant and grow vegetables intentionally to share with their wider community.
We will work collaboratively to generate momentum for growing intentionally for food collection.
Is this workshop for me?

Other Bountiful Bristol highlights
We have been supporting a ‘Growing Together’ group in partnership with BS3 Community and Hotwells & District Allotments Association. Members of food projects and allotment tenants have been looking after spaces in a community polytunnel and outside plot. People have shared the positive impact this has had on wellbeing and we have noticed a good increase in the amount of food we can share!
In addition to our established donation pathways, this year Bountiful Bristol has supported five new growing partnerships This was largely a result of the connections and relationships formed at our ‘Returning to the Soil’ event. Bountiful Bristol will be collating data on how has been shared soon. If you have made any donations, please record them HERE.
If you're hosting a good food event in Bristol, share the details here to spread the word far and wide.
