Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop
Royate Hill Community Orchard
Royate Hill Community Orchard, off Royate Hill, East Bristol, BS5 6RN
Annual Fruit Tree Pruning workshop – led by the wonderful Tim Foster and hosted by Mike Feingold.
The workshop is FREE – please arrive at 10.45 for an 11am start, then stay for the day. We’ll finish approx 3.30-4pm!
Workshop space is limited – Priority will go to individuals involved in community food & growing projects.
To book your place you must contact Mike on mikefeingold[at]blueyonder.co.uk and get a confirmed booking.
– You should bring your own sharp secateurs & pruning saw (not a bow saw nor a carpenters saw!) – if you have them.
– We may have a few spare tools to share around – hand sanitiser & cleaning gear will be available.
– In the introduction you will learn about the tools to use, what & when to prune, and how/where to prune.
– Around 2-3 hours will then be spent actively pruning the right trees…whilst guided by the 2 tutors & other experienced pruners.
You should dress warmly with sturdy footwear & gloves – it will be cold / maybe wet.
There will be a fire & hot water/mulled cider – it’ll help if you bring a mug/thermos. Please bring veggie / vegan snacks etc to share!
(Note – We strongly recommend that you return to Royate Hill for the next few Saturdays to polish your new skill & do more pruning!).
We regret this is for ages 16 years and up and up – uses sharp tools; sadly the location is on a slope and not wheelchair accessible.
