This two-day course will introduce key principals and techniques for growing veg on a small scale.
The focus of this course is to introduce the principles and practice of food growing to those interested in growing more food in their garden or allotments. The course will be predominantly practical, using the demonstration areas at Grow Wilder to cover topics such as seed sowing and propagation, looking after our soil, dealing with pesky pests, and deciding what to grow when and how much.

Tutors
Ian Sumpter – Ian has spent over 34 years farming and growing organically, from vineyards in East Sussex to hemp growing in West Cornwall.
Always seeking to involve and inspire, he now hosts Community Farmer volunteer days in the Chew Valley, and has recently begun work on the Food Secure South West project, training, enabling and supporting our future farmers.
Rosa Beesley – Rosa has worked in community food growing projects across Bristol, supporting those with additional learning and mental health support needs in horticultural training, and currently leads the Food Growing and Land Management at Grow Wilder.
She has recently completed an MSc Agroecology, Water & Food Sovereignty at Coventry University.
