Somerset Food & Growing Forum
Spark Somerset
Address:
Online, This is an online event
A free forum for anyone in Somerset involved with initiatives that use food, growing and gardening to support positive change.
Food, growing and gardening projects are vital for the health and wellbeing of our communities, especially in times of economic hardship. That’s why we invite you to join us for this free forum, co-hosted by Spark Somerset and Somerset Community Food (SCF).
Whether you’re involved with a local allotment, community fridge or foodbank, therapeutic garden, cooking class or any other initiative which uses food, growing and gardening to support positive change, please come and join us for the chance to network and share peer support, learning and best practice.
Mark Helyar from Take Art will be joining us to discuss Cultivate, a creative partnership that brings local food, arts and people together for the benefit of rural communities and the environment in South Somerset.
We’ll also be joined by Kim Robinson from Fresh and Good, part of the Sustainable Wells initiative, who will explain how they use surplus food to create healthy meals on a budget for community events.
Lara Honnor from Skool Beans will be reflecting on the Future Gardeners Forum, plus we’ll hear about upcoming seed swap events, and where to go for advice and information if you want to start your own.
Tickets are freely available to voluntary organisations, social enterprises and individuals involved in community growing, food and gardening projects in Somerset.
If you're hosting a good food event in Bristol, share the details here to spread the word far and wide.
