Good Food Job Update: November 2025

By Ramona Andrews

Welcome to November’s Bristol Good Food 2030 Job Update.

As a reminder, good food jobs are about…

  • promoting and encouraging people to cook from scratch, grow their own and eat more fresh, seasonal, local, organically grown food.
  • championing the use of local, independent food shops and traders to help keep Bristol’s high street vibrant and diverse.
  • promoting and encouraging the use of good-quality land in and around Bristol for food production.
  • promoting and encouraging the redistribution, recycling and composting of food waste.
  • advancing education about the part that food, nutrition and lifestyle can play in meeting the needs of disadvantaged individuals, families and groups in the community, and encouraging social inclusion and social cohesion.

Not Impossible

There is a growing skills gap that threatens the future of good food. Most employers want to meet more young people, but often lack the time to host traditional work experience. With your response, we can shine a light on the unsung heroes already making a difference and make it much easier for others to follow suit. Complete Not Impossible’s 10-second survey to highlight the unsung heroes giving young people industry experience.

The Community Farm Management Committee

It’s that time of year when The Community Farm recruits new people to maintain the strength of its all-important Management Committee, a governing body of volunteers akin to a board of directors. You will be joining a strong team of energetic and enthusiastic Committee members who work closely with our senior staff team. The Committee is responsible for governance, rather than operations, but as a small and young organisation we are closely involved in the life of the Farm.

The Community Farm is keen to recruit a diversity of experience and skills onto the Committee and are especially interested in recruiting people who are well connected in the local food system; or who have experience in farming, wildlife conservation, marketing or fundraising.

Join the Board at Batch Cook club
