Food Waste
Heart of BS13 Community Compost Tour
Heart of BS13
Address:
Hartcliffe City Farm, Lampton Ave, BS13 0QH
Heart of BS13 is excited to invite you to Hartcliffe City Farm to learn about the organisation’s composting programme, and how it’s improving the environment in and for the community.
Composting is a amazing process, creating healthy soil which is essential for life. And turning our food waste into compost is a simple, easy and effective way of caring for the environment and improving the soil for future generations. Heart of BS13 is confident that after coming on this compost tour, you’ll never want to throw your food waste in the bin again!
What will happen on the tour? Be taken to see Heart of BS13’s Ridan composting machine, which processes food waste before it goes into compost bays. You’ll get to help turn the compost and load it into the bays, check out the bugs and other life in our living soil, and visit the flower farm where the compost ends up. And there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, over tea and cake!
