Good Food Governance

April update

Louise Delmege and Heloise Balme holding the Bristol Gold Sustainable Food City awardHeloise Balme and Louise Delmege attended the Sustainable Food Places national conference at the end of March. Bristol Good Food 2030 is a member of Sustainable Food Places (SFP), a national partnership programme. Bristol is only the second city in the UK to achieve Gold Sustainable Food City status as awarded by SFP.

Louise says “The conference was a fantastic opportunity to meet other partnership coordinators from all around the UK and learn about their approach. It was fascinating to hear about the challenges other areas are facing, especially rural areas. We take it for granted that everyone in Bristol understands why agro-ecological growing is important, this is not true country-wide.”

Bristol Good Food 2030 is still applying for grants for the Disaster Risk Planning strand of the project, so that researchers can begin their work on it. The Food System Data work includes indicators for the Action Plans and Framework. The Bristol Good Food 2030 Framework is almost ready – feedback is coming in and updates are being made. The Framework is on track to be published in May with a public launch in June.
