Food Justice

April update

  • Bristol Food Producers and Feeding Bristol produced a scoping report exploring the demand for and practicalities of growing culturally appropriate food in Bristol. A summary report is available upon request
  • Feeding Bristol hosted a successful winter gathering for Bristol’s Community Food Justice Network in January, with a panel discussion around setting up strong networks, a group exercise mapping community kitchens and food sharing spaces, and the sharing of food stories
  • Easter Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) sessions were successfully delivered. The HAF programme has enabled Bristol to come together during the school holidays and reach more children and young people than ever before with healthy food and activities.
  • Bristol Local Food Fund ran a successful fundraiser, with approximately £100k raised.
  • Feeding Bristol is now preparing for Food Justice Fortnight 2024, which will run from 24 June to 7 July. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful and diverse food communities creating positive change within Bristol. It will include workshops, discussions, activities and lots of shared food.
