Food Waste
Tackling food waste means taking steps to stop any edible food going to waste, and making sure that food that can’t be eaten is disposed of in the right way.
What’s it about?
Food waste is a global scandal, fuelling the climate crisis and driving inequality. More than 800 million people don’t have enough food to eat, and yet as much as a third of the food we produce globally goes to waste. Producing all that wasted food uses 25% of the world’s fresh water, an area of land bigger than China, and costs around $1 trillion every year.
