Avon Gleaning Network work with farms around Avon and Somerset to harvest or collect surplus fruit and veg that would otherwise go to waste. This is then redistributed to charitable food projects who are supporting people experiencing food insecurity. They’ll find a home for any amount of produce from farms, growers, allotments, orchards, gardens or other organisations!
Bristol Living Soil is Bristol’s first community compost collective. We are coordinating food waste composting to save vital nutrients, carbon and methane from escaping our food system and contributing to climate change. The donated food provides hot meals and practical help to people at their point of crisis, whilst ongoing support means that they are championed to rebuild their lives.
