Avon Organic Group exists to promote and share ideas and techniques for organic gardening. The Group hosts talks eight times a year on all aspects of organic growing, ranging from the basics to specialist topics and modern practices. Our talks are open to the public, and newcomers are always welcome, as are ideas for talks and offers of help in making this all happen. Tucked away on a 37-acre site in Stapleton, Elm Tree Farm is a small working farm and one of Bristol’s hidden treasures. We’re also a thriving social enterprise and Care Farm, providing support and training to adults with learning disabilities and autism, and are part of Brandon Trust, a leading learning disability charity.
Fishponds Community Orchard
Fishponds Community Orchard is managed organically and grows local varieties of apples. Situated on Thingwall Park Allotment Site it provides a space for people and wildlife to enjoy and is an educational resource.
Five Acre Farm
Located in Backwell, Five Acre Farm CIC produce vegetables, flowers and honey using regenerative techniques, for sale onsite as well as in Bristol and North Somerset. We also provide opportunities for community engagement with the land, including volunteer days and workshops.
Friends of St Agnes Park
St Agnes Park is a beautiful green space in St Pauls. Friends of St Agnes Park aim to meet weekly for park care sessions, where we also drink tea! We will be sweeping, litter picking, weeding, sowing seeds, propagating cuttings, planting, watering and learning all about what goes into gardening. There might also be some painting and woodwork.

A group that works to support and enhance St George Park, Bristol as a community resource and wildlife haven. We work with other community groups and Bristol City Council.

Golden Hill Community Garden

Grow Wilder
Grow Wilder, Avon Wildlife Trust’s wildlife gardening hub, is on 10 acres of beautiful land. We demonstrate the value of nature for wildlife gardening, agriculture and wellbeing. Our wildflower nursery opens weekdays 9am-5pm and we run a weekend café in the summer months.

We work with local schools, parish and town councils, and community groups to set up and support growing spaces. These growing spaces are linked together to form the Growing Communities Network, where expertise, ideas, and seeds/plants can be shared with one another, and where spare food can be shared with local community kitchens and food banks.
