Good Food Job Alert: January 2023

By Ramona Andrews

To mark the start of the new year, we are piloting a new good food job alert service as part of Bristol Good Food 2030. Regular updates will be published on the Bristol Good Food website and associated social media as and when jobs are advertised.

In short, good food jobs are about…

  • promoting and encouraging people to cook from scratch, grow their own and eat more fresh, seasonal, local, organically grown food.
  • championing the use of local, independent food shops and traders to help keep Bristol’s high street vibrant and diverse.
  • promoting and encouraging the use of good-quality land in and around Bristol for food production.
  • promoting and encouraging the redistribution, recycling and composting of food waste.
  • advancing education about the part that food, nutrition and lifestyle can play in meeting the needs of disadvantaged individuals, families and groups in the community, and encouraging social inclusion and social cohesion.

Online magazine Wicked Leeks published a helpful article at the end of last year about options for working in good food, aside from actually being a farmer (although we’ll also list farming opportunities as when they may be offered around the city). Please let us know if you come across any other helpful resources for those wanting to work in good food.
