Bristol Good Food 2030’s Opportunities criteria
Bristol Good Food 2030 Opportunities brings together jobs, funding, training, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities, placements, and programmes that help people, organisations and communities get involved in and grow the good food movement.
Bristol Good Food 2030 opportunities should contribute to one or more of the following aims:
- Promoting and encouraging people to cook from scratch, grow their own food, and eat more fresh, seasonal, local and organically produced food.
- Championing local, independent food businesses, shops and traders, helping to create a vibrant, diverse and resilient local food economy.
- Promoting and encouraging the use of good-quality land in and around Bristol for sustainable food production.
- Supporting the prevention, redistribution, recycling and composting of food waste.
- Advancing education, skills and awareness about the role that food, nutrition and lifestyle can play in improving health and wellbeing, particularly for disadvantaged individuals, families and communities.
- Encouraging social inclusion, community participation and social cohesion through food-related activities and programmes.
- Building the capacity, skills and resilience of individuals, organisations and communities working towards a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system.
