Join Sea Mills Community Garden for an open morning as part of Communuity Showcase Trail.
The seeds are ready, the beds are dug or mulched, the primroses are peeping through. The potatoes are chitting, the broad beans and onions have survived the winter and getting a growing start. Polytunnel salads are appearing and we’re hoping for some purple sprouting broccoli.
Spring is coming, it really is and we won’t have to wait long to begin the sowing and planting rush. Will the slugs let them live this year?
Starlings overwinter here, making a fine noise in the afternoons. Soon many will start their spring migration and hopefully we’ll enjoy some sun.
Garden sessions are currently Mondays 10am-12pm (session with a young family focus – waiting list at the moment), Wednesdays 1-4pm and Thursdays 1-4pm open to all to visit or volunteer. Occasionally the site might be closed if the weather is poor. For more information, go to the Facebook page (linked on the left: ‘More Info’.)
If you're hosting a good food event in Bristol, share the details here to spread the word far and wide.
