Individual volunteering
We are a community farm with animals and several different growing areas. The farm includes vegetable and fruit gardens, an orchard, a woodland and a wildlife garden. We are working to regenerate the land and improve bio-diversity. We always use nature friendly methods, following no-dig and organic principles.
We are looking for volunteer growers to support the garden project on Thursday and Friday mornings. These volunteers will be responsible for sowing seeds and growing on seedlings to plant out on the farm. This will allow us to produce more delicious, fresh produce for our farm shop.
You’ll get to learn the best ways to sow different seeds, successional sowing, how to pot on plants for best results, how to manage pests and diseases organically and nature friendly gardening methods.
Any experience with sowing and growing is welcome, but not necessary.
The work will be primarily under cover in our polytunnels, but you should be comfortable working outside in all weather.
